Leaving Kettlewell on Top Mere Road this section passes Cam Head, Buckden Pike, Stake Moss and then around Addlebrough to Worton and Woodhall. It continues past Beldhaw Hill and crosses Woodhall Greets, The Fleak and Lodge Moor to Crackpot. From here it follows the River Swale past Gunnerside and Bracken Hill, leaving the river join the Pennine Way at East Stonesdale, to head across Stonesdale Moor to Tan Hill.
