3. Edale to Mankinholes

This section leaves Edale to Nether Booth and climbs to stunning views from Win Hill. It then drops through Parkin Clough to Ladybower Reservoir and heads around the shoreline to follow alongside Upper Derwent Reservoir and Howden Reservoir. The route leave the River Derwent at Cranberry Clough and rises to cross open moorland, via Mickleden Edge, to the west edge of Langsett Reservoir. Then it follows Swinden Lane to join Barnsley Boundary Walk and passes Upper Windleden Reservoir and Winscar Reservoir on the way to Hepworth. A short detour to Jackson Bridge and back to soak up Last of the Summer Wine country, then onto the Kirklees Way to Holme and Marsden. Leaving along Waters Road the route heads along Willykay Clough to Haigh Gutter where it joins the Pennine Way to head over White Hill and cross the M62 to cross Blackstone Edge Moor and pass Warland Reservoir. This section finishes at Withens Gate for a short walk down into Mankinholes.
